Instructions for recently migrated users:


The following instructions will assist you in transitioning from the use of the GroupWise Web Client to Rowan University's new Outlook Web Client. Please read and follow the instructions carefully and contact the Support Desk (256-4400) or e-mail nss@rowan.edu if you have any questions or require further information.

1. If you are running any type of pop-up blocker, allow pop-ups for this site at this time. If you do not allow pop-ups, the site may not work properly.

2. Click on the link in the center of the page where it says "Click Here to Access Your WebMail". See image below:


3. Next, you will be prompted for your username and password. Please use your email addresss (username@rowan.edu) as your username.


The very first time you log in, your password will be your Social Security Number with no spaces. Instructions for changing your password are below.

4. Once you've logged in successfully, the Outlook Web Client will appear. All of your email, folders, address books and calendar information from GroupWise will have been imported into Outlook. Your folders from Groupwise will appear when you expand (click on the + sign) the Cabinet folder. All new mail arrives in your inbox. All GroupWise Address Books appear as their own folder, or have been imported into the contacts folder. All GroupWise calendar events have been imported into the Calendar folder.

5. When you are finished using Outlook Webmail, be sure to log off everytime using the log off button in the upper right-hand corner of the application window and then close the browser completely.

Password Issues:

The new E-mail Server will not accept passwords less than 5 (five) characters long. If you have difficulty logging in, or if you know your password is less than 5 characters long you will need to go http://www.rowan.edu/password and change your password.

On the Rowan "Change your Password Page" Your password for both email and logging into all of Rowan's network resources will be changed and synched. In the fields provided, enter your user name (not your email address - only use your email address to log into webmail), your current password (which we've set to your SSN), the password you wish to change to, and the new password again (your new password needs to be atleast 5 characters long). Finally, hit submit and wait for the web site to confirm that your password has been changed. Now you can use the new password to log onto the Outlook Webmail system and network resources on Campus.


Configure Microsoft Outlook for use from Off-Campus

If you have a copy of Microsoft Outlook 2000 or 2003 installed on your home computer you can access your Exchange account for use from home as if you were on campus.

You can find the step-by-step instructions in our Knowledgebase. Visit http://www.rowan.edu/support and enter the knowledgebase. Click "Search the Knowledgebase" and enter the keywords "configure outlook from home". The first 2 results will be instructions for setting up either Outlook 2000 and 2003.
